Adieu

When at last I said, “Adieu,”

Nothing to fold when prancing

Down winter roads.

Splash, splash, goes the slush

When I stomp my feet upon it.

Dancers pray out in the open,

Fearing all movement from others

Whom closed their minds to the

Rhythms of the streets.

Drip, drip, drip goes my

Leaky faucet, because the

Pipes have grown too weak

Through execution of the tides.

Shadows rush over to my bedroom

To give circumspect to fixtures

Attached to my walls.

Deliver a shield made of gold

To the king, and he will

Reward you three-fold.

Shelter is a step away from

The fires burning in my soul.

However, with every burning

Star comes resilience time

Brings to the tides in search

Of glory.
